A day at Parliament House! 🏛️Our Sanderson students had a front-row seat to Australian democracy today during their Canberra trip. ✨️From sitting in on Question Time to taking the floor in a Parliament roleplay, they got a firsthand look at how decisions are made. 📚
It is with such pride, excitement but also immense sadness that the Sanderson Community farewells a pillar of our schools’ history into his retirement. After 41 years of tireless service Mr. Tom McCall is hanging up his badminton racquet and stepping into retirement. Whilst we are devastated to see such a tremendous educator and person depart, we couldn’t be happier for Tom as he absolutely deserves a long and happy retirement. Mr. McCall’s impact over 4 decades is immeasurable. We still see Tom go above and beyond to support our students, be it with their education, a word of advice or even just making sure they know that they have people who care about them. Tom is more than just an educator, he role models care, compassion and high expectations. To have a member of a school community doing that for 41 years is invaluable, and the difference that can make to a student is sometimes life changing. Thank you Mr. McCall for being an anchor for so many throughout your career. You will be missed, but the legacy of your work will carry on through all of us who strive to live up to the standard you set. We wish you all the very best for your retirement, and encourage past students and colleagues to do the same in the comments!

Views don’t get much better than this! 📸⛰️ Our Sanderson High School Humanities students have officially kicked off day one of their 5-day Study Tour, taking in the stunning panoramic views over the nation’s capital from the top of Mount Ainslie!Over the next few days across Canberra and Sydney, they’ll be stepping out of the classroom to explore Parliament House, the Australian War Memorial, Taronga Zoo, Questacon, and so much more. ✨️

This could be for them.Eight Northern Territory students will have the chance to travel to Okinawa, Japan, in June 2027 as part of the Chief Minister’s Study Tour.They’ll experience Okinawan culture, explore the shared history between Australia and Japan, and learn how the lessons of the past continue to shape peace, cooperation and partnerships in the Indo-Pacific today.They don’t have to be an essay-writing superstar to apply.
